Egil Øyjord was the founder of IAMFE.
The International Association on Mechanization of Field Experiments (IAMFE) is a non-profit organization founded in Norway in 1964. On 19 June 1964, a majority of the participants in the “NATO Advanced Study Institute on Mechanization of Field Experiments” from 17 countries agreed to create IAMFE.
The proposal to create IAMFE was prepared and presented by Egil Øyjord. IAMFE aims to increase the efficiency and precision of agronomy and plant breeding research to meet the need for more food in the world. The organization has branches in ten countries.
IAMFE has organized 15 international and seven regional conferences and exhibitions on the mechanization of field experiments (2017).
